Tech Dusk: A year has been working out an ambitious project, a skirmish wargame in the post-apocalyptic world - Tech Dusk. Soon the first starting set comes out, in this connection the authors decided to tell the story about the project to a large number of people.

The setting of the wargame is based on an original story, in the not too distant future, humanity due to the augmentation experiments will cause uncontrolled mutations of people and an epidemic of infection. In the end, people unite in cities-fortresses and will fight with mutants for survival. A detailed description can be found on the wargame page. Now you can see representatives of three factions, Anarchy band, Flesh Collectors and Technocracy Argant. Soon, beta testing of the rules of the wargame will begin and TD will invite the war game lovers to take part in the project. Thank you for attention and beware of the flesh collectors! Shieldwolf Miniatures: War is Coming: Warmaidens & Dragonbreds Kickstarter - Beast Tamers and Sister of Wolves Vehicles

Shieldwolf Miniatures: So, we are rolling along nicely with almost 2/3 of the funding required in less than 24 hours. The faster we commence unlocking stretch goals, the faster we get to even more interesting stuff! So, this update is going to be divided in 2 parts First part is sci-fi and has to do with the vehicles of the Sisters of Wolves and second part is fantasy with a nice little surprise for the Shieldmaidens Let's go! Check the Kickstarter here

Vehicles of the Sisters of Wolves - We would like to start immediately by clarifying that the vehicles are not exactly the same and only varying by their -light or heavy- weaponry. There are two types of vehicles, first is Transport and the second is Combat. While these might look the same from the front, they have differences on the rear, see for yourselves. Also, items like the shields and furs are removable pieces. The enscriptions for these vehicles however are not. Like we have said on various forums, there's a very nice number of variations we have prepared for those of you who wish to assemble the vehicle differently. Here are some of them available below. ...and plenty more to follow! Now, let's be fair and see what we also got in store for our supporters on the fantasy section, something we didn't manage to unlock the previous time! (for those who might remember...)

Shieldmaiden Beast Tamers - In the lines of the Shieldmaiden Culture, there are those criminals who are condemned to death, and this punishment isn't lenient nor swift (usually quite brutal to be precise, to serve as a lesson to the rest). These criminals are given to the Beasts; to be mauled by the great ice warbears or to be trampled by their Mighty War Elephants. Tradition has it that should the criminal somehow manage survive her destiny, then it's a clear sign that the Gods have favoured her and forever bound her soul to the animal. For this reason a special bond is created among the beast and her, their lives tied together; one of the many strange things that have still to be explained in the ice cold north...

Studio Capitan: Kampfgruppe Commander III - Grand Tactical World War Two Battle Rules

Studio Capitan: Kampfgruppe Commander maintains an emphasis on command and control, but uses entirely new, and fast-playing, game mechanics. We have built in a great deal of historical flavor with rules that foster constant back-and-forth action.

At conventions, Kampfgruppe Commander has consistently played in half the time of other rules sets. Our local gaming group of a dozen people runs evening games that start at 7:30 and end at 10:00 sharp. These rules allow large battles to be fought to a decision in two-and-a-half-hours. Available at The Wargame Vault here

Kampfgruppe Commander emphasizes aspects of World War II combat typically left out of, or not given enough emphasis in other rules. Tired of the same old line-them-up-and-shoot- them-down tank-to-tank battle? Kampfgruppe Commander has placed just as much thought into infantry, artillery, and support asset tactics as it has armored combat. Because of the command system, units of all arms have personality. And infantry gets into the action just as quickly as the tanks. The rules also represent flanking fire tactics, scouting, falling back to reduce casualties, the creeping barrages of Soviet artillery, Force Morale that decisively ends games if one side has become too battered, and much more.

Scales: One height level equals 50 feet; one turn is equivalent to 30-60 minutes. In base scale, 1 inch represents 100 yards. This scale is used throughout the rules. However, Kampfgruppe Commander can also be played with an "ex-tended scale” at the players’ preference. The base scales work for figure sizes from Micro to 10mm. Some players, however, with large tables might want to use the Extended scale for 15mm or 20mm figures.

Kampfgruppe Commander organizes a player’s forces at two levels.

1.Units: are typically made up of two to four stands each. In most cases a unit corresponds to a historical company. Generally, a unit consists of a number of stands equal to the number of platoons in the historic company. However, this guide line is frequently relaxed to accommodate units that are over- or under-strength. A unit’s stands need not be kept touching each other. At all times, however, each of a unit’s stands must be within 2” of another stand within the same unit. Assets do not count as unit stands.

2. Formations: all units must belong to a formation. This formation’s commander is used to activate actions of units belonging to his formation. Each formation has one stand to represent the commander. Formations typically correspond to historical battalions.

Shieldwolf Miniatures launched their War is Coming: Warmaidens & Dragonbreds Kickstarter to fund and produce plastic fantasy and science fiction female warriors along with deadly creatures and powerful vehicles. You can check the full Kickstarter here

This is a miniatures-only project and has been created in order to complement the Krumvaal Northern Alliance female army, which includes troop miniatures, cavalry and other (larger) goodies in hard plastic (HIPS) as well as other fantastic miniatures of this army in high quality polyurethane resin. After which, more female factions come into play like our Paladin faction who in the Shieldwolf World are the guardians of knowledge and protectors of faith, the Sisters of the Kingdom of Talliareum. And more to follow!

We start this project with the fantasy Wolf Wardens and sci-fi Sisters of Wolves; for each fantasy kit we unlock, Shieldwolf Miniatures will fund an alternative hard-plastic kit for the sci-fi version making thus new pledge levels available to its backers (i.e. new Raiding Parties, Starter Armies etc). These lovely fantasy and sci-fi female armies provide miniatures fitting for both skirmish and army gamers & collectors!

Pen and Sword discounted the useful A Wargamer's Guide to The Desert War 1940 - 1943 book by wargame author Daniel Mersey.

Continuing this exciting new series of guides for wargamers, Dan Mersey gives a wargamer’s perspective on the North African campaign of World War II. Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl was already old at the dawn of the Imperium, over ten thousand years ago. During that span of ages the Tech-Priest has served as a Forge Lord, a Lexico Arcanus and a renowned Magos Biologis. On the battlefield Cawl is a force to be reckoned with, fearlessly scuttling into the thick of the fighting, assessing threats and broadcasting carefully planned orders to his troops. Most enemy fire is thwarted by his force field; however even when parts of his mechanised body are blown off, cables snake out in a whir of activity to effect immediate repairs, or swarm anything that dares comes close…
